Thom Rainer, a Baptist Pastor and church consultant for over 40 years, asked people online, “What are the sacred cows in your church?”
The term sacred cow, probably originating from Hinduism, describes parts of a organization which cannot be changed or altered for they are seen as sacred.
He received hundreds of responses from Christians lamenting how certain parts of their church, ministry, and mindset are untouchable sacred cows.
1. List a few sacred cows some churches might have
2. List a few sacred cows believers might have – beliefs or attitudes that they will not consider changing.
We'll answer these questions and more this Sunday in our new Sunday School class, Think God First, how to find contentment & comfort in Christ, not more stuff.
